Form and Function in Clay

Ceramics is a special art form in that it can be used. Pots are touched and held by the user connecting the maker to the user in an intimate way. A simple mug is an object that holds the morning coffee or tea and is brought to the lips thoughtfully and with pleasure. How the handle feels, the glaze, the roughness of the foot and the rounded lip are all thought about and shared. The potter passes his best on through time.
